  1. Dozens of protesters took to the streets in Brooklyn to demand action against the issue of gun violence throughout the city. Community activists, city officials, and residents who have suffered from gun violence called upon Mayor Eric Adams and other elected officials to bring some real change to the disturbing rise in gun-related crimes. According to NYPD crime data, there have been over 447 shooting in the city this year. (CBS New York)
  2. A 16-year-old boy is recovering after suffering a gunshot wound in East Flatbush on Sunday. The teen was shot at approximately 11 p.m. on Albany Avenue and was transported to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. It is unclear what led up to the shooting as NYPD continues to investigate the case. (CBS News)
  3. A large fire broke out on the border of Bed-Stuy on Monday morning, leaving one person injured. The blaze began on the top floor of a three-story home on Linden Street just after 7 a.m. More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene, which was under control in about an hour. (Patch)
  4. Mayor Eric Adams announced a ceremony to honor FDNY members who responded to the Brooklyn subway shooting attack. The ceremony was set to be held on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at City Hall. In weeks since the attack, the city has honored first responders and civilians alike who were instrumental in saving lives and bringing the suspect into custody. (PIX11 New York News)
  5. An elderly woman has gone missing from her East New York home. Yekaterina Khudish, 79, was last seen at her home on Pitkin Avenue at approximately noon on Friday. Khudish was last seen wearing a red shirt with black pants, and anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline. (Patch)
