- A violent attacker left an 88-year-old woman with a broken arm and injured hip after he aggressively grabbed her rear end. The suspect rode up to the victim on a bicycle and proceeded to grab her, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect remains at large while the victim is recovering at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. (NBC New York)
- A group of gun traffickers accused of selling firearms allegedly sold some of the weapons within blocks of an elementary and middle school. The five men were arrested and charged with the sale of 28 guns, including assault rifles. Two of the men were also charged in connection to a drug trafficking scheme. (Patch)
- Coney Island has added three new rides to its iconic boardwalk. The new attractions are under construction in Luna Park, along with new recreational areas and pedestrian plazas. (Brooklyn Patch)
- Six people were injured in a Williamsburg fire early on Friday morning. The blaze broke out in a mixed-use building on Union Avenue at about 5:40 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. (NBC New York)
- Pier 6 at The Brooklyn Bridge Park has been renovated, upgrading from gravel to synthetic grass. The dog park has long been avoided by some residents as the material was not entirely safe for pets. (PR Newswire)
