Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. A shooting in Brooklyn early on Monday morning left a victim with a bullet wound in his arm. At approximately 12:56 a.m. at the corner of East 94th Street and Avenue L in Canarsie, the 32-year-old man was shot in his left arm and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. No arrests have yet been made in the ongoing investigation. (AMNY)
  2. As the facade installation of The Brooklyn Tower nears completion, the construction crane is almost fully disassembled. The 1,066-foot superstructure at 9 DeKalb Ave. will yield 550 residences with 150 for purchase. Sales launched in March 2022, and leasing is set to begin in mid-2022. (New York YIMBY)
  3. Daniel Auster, the 44-year-old son of famous author Paul Auster, was charged in the overdose death of his 10-month-old daughter. Ruby Auster was found unconscious in November 2021 in their Park Slope home and was pronounced dead at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Auster was charged on Sunday with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child. (Paywall: The New York Times)
