Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. A 13-year-old boy was held at knifepoint and sexually attacked by an unknown perpetrator earlier this week. The boy was walking near Rockaway Park at about 4 p.m. on Monday when the stranger engaged him in a conversation. The suspect then forced the victim to an unknown location while holding him at knifepoint, when he attacked the victim. Police released surveillance footage of the suspect, but he remains at large. (NBC New York)
  2. A cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident when a garbage truck struck him on Thursday morning. The driver was heading south on 9th Avenue near New Utrecht Avenue, near Green-Wood Cemetery, when he ran into the 35-year-old male victim at approximately 8:23 a.m. The driver fled the scene, while the victim was found with severe wounds, and was pronounced dead at Maimonides Hospital.   3. The popular free outdoor movie series, "Movies Under The Stars," is returning to Brooklyn this weekend. A screening of "Spider-Man: No Way Home," comes to Sunset Park Playground on Friday, and "Space Jam: A New Legacy" will be screened the next day in South Brooklyn. This weekend's showing are among over 150 that are schedule throughout the city this summer. (Patch)
