Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- The NYPD is investigating multiple shootings on Saturday, including one incident that left a 16-year-old girl dead. There were at least four incidents within a 24-hour period, including three people who were shot in Crown Heights. The police were unable to make any arrests overnight, and the investigations remain ongoing across the city. (CBS New York)
- The NYPD are searching for suspects in a brutal mugging in Brooklyn on April 4. Surveillance shows the two men approach the victim, while one put him in a chokehold while they punched and kicked him, and hit him with a glass bottle. The suspects made off with $100 and the victim's cell phone. (CBS News)
- More than two dozen dogs were seized from a home in Brooklyn on Friday night, and the owner was put under arrest. Police found that the suspect was keeping 28 dogs in his home under inhumane conditions. The ASPCA assisted with the rescue, and treating the animals suffering from dehydration, skin infections, and open wounds. (WABC-TV)
