Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. A woman was choked and sexually assaulted in a Downtown Brooklyn apartment after she refused to engage in sexual intercourse with the suspect. Late on Thursday night, the suspect walked with the victim into the apartment building, and began to choke her to the point of unconsciousness. The attacker is known to be 27 years old, and goes by the name "Todd." The victim was treated at a local hospital while the suspect fled after stealing $600 and the woman's cell phone. (NBC New York)
  2. Construction work nears completion at One Clinton, a 36-story residential complex in Brooklyn Heights. The building, located at 280 Cadman Plz., will feature 134 residential units, a 9,000-square-foot STEM research center, and One Clinton Street Library, which replaces the Brooklyn Heights Library. The entire facade is nearing completion, and exterior work should be entirely complete within the next few months. (New York YIMBY)
  3. A fire broke out early on Saturday morning on East 94th Street in Brooklyn. The FDNY had the blaze under control within an hour, and one firefighter suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. (News 12)
