BROOKLYN, NY — A 64-year-old woman is facing charges after a crash in East Flatbush in May that left a pedestrian dead, police said.

Carol Allen was arrested this past weekend by officers from the 67th Precinct in connection with the crash that fatally struck 68-year-old Maurette Lafleur as she crossed the street. She faces two charges: failure to yield and failure to exercise due care.

Police said Lafleur was in a marked crosswalk, crossing north to south on Rutland Road around the evening of May 14, when Allen, who was driving a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC turning left from East 95th Street, struck her.
