Dump Truck Smashes Into BK Cyclist, Woman Fighting For Her Life: Cops
A woman was in critical condition after a dump truck crashed into a cyclist and her passenger in Brooklyn Wednesday.

BROOKLYN, NY — A woman was fighting for her life after a dump truck crashed into a cyclist in Brooklyn Heights Wednesday.
A cyclist with a passenger was traveling northbound on Adams Street near Tillary Street about 3:05 p.m. Wednesday when a dump truck struck the cyclist from behind, according to the NYPD.
The 54-year-old passenger was critically injured, while the 29-year-old was in stable condition — both were rushed to an area hospital, police said.

The driver stayed on the scene but there were no arrests Thursday. The NYPD continued to investigate.
Wednesday marked the sixth injurious crash near the intersection so far this year, which left at least two cyclists hurt, city data show.

"It’s a tragic & urgent reminder that we must act to make cycling safer in NYC [with] protected network of lanes," said City Council Member Lincoln Restler in a tweet.
