FDNY EMT Dragged Ex-Wife With Car In BK Domestic Dispute: DA, Source

A 25-year veteran of the FDNY pleaded not guilty to assault charges after dragging his ex-wife with a car, prosecutors and a source said.

BROOKLYN, NY — An FDNY EMT accused of dragging his ex-wife with a car during a domestic dispute was arrested in Brooklyn Monday, according to prosecutors and a law enforcement source.

Brent Blake, 54, pleaded not guilty to assault charges related to the May 14 East New York incident, court records show.

Blake was riding in the car with his ex-wife when she exited the vehicle — at which point Blake "ran [her] over with his car," according to the filed criminal complaint and law enforcement source.

The woman grabbed the passenger window, and Blake kept driving, dragging her along, prosecutors said.

Blake, who has worked for the department since 1998, was arrested Monday about 9:15 a.m. in the NYPD's 75th Precinct, which covers East New York, according to the NYPD. He was expected back in court in February 2024.
