BUSHWICK, NY — A fire burned through a Bushwick building Thursday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

The blaze started about 1:20 p.m. at what authorities called a warehouse or factory at the corner of George Street and Evergreen Avenue, officials said.

When officials arrived, they found "extremely heavy fire conditions" on the loading dock of the factory, according to Assistant Chief Joseph Ferrante.

The fire was controlled by about 3:15 p.m. thanks to some 140 emergency personnel battling the flames, authorities said.

One firefighter was injured and transferred to an area hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
