Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:
- The NYPD are searching for a suspect who ripped a woman's shoe off of her foot at Grand Army Plaza subway station. The 47 year old was going up a staircase when the suspect stole her sneaker and ran onto an arriving train. The victim did not sustain any injuries in the incident. (FOX 5 NY)
- A road for pedestrians and bicyclists was abruptly opened up to vehicle traffic on Thursday. Willoughby Avenue in Fort Greene had been blocked to cars as part of the Open Streets program, and the barriers were mistakenly removed duo to a miscommunication. The barriers were replaced on Thursday night. (CBS New York)
- The FDNY responded to a two-alarm fire late on Friday morning at 1560 East Seventh St. Over 100 firefighters were on the scene before the fire was eventually put out just after noon. It is unclear exactly what caused the blaze, but no injuries were reported. (News 12)
