Group Beats Man With Metal Pipe In Brooklyn Robbery, Police Say

BROOKLYN, NY — A group of robbers beat a man with an iron stick in a scuffle on a Brooklyn street, police said.

All six of the suspected robbers in the July 4 heist — in which a 50-year-old man was beat and robbed of approximately $800 — remain on the loose, authorities said.

According to police, around 4:30 a.m. in front of 827 59th Street, a residential building on the border of Borough Park and Sunset Park, a group of six people approached a man and began beating him with an iron stick, striking him multiple times and causing pain and swelling.

After the attack, the unidentified suspects fled in a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz SUV heading west on 59th Street toward Eighth Avenue, police said.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition at Maimonides Medical Center after the violent attack.

NYPD officials over the weekend released photographs of five of the attackers suspected to be involved.

The first is described as a man last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black slippers and white socks and carrying a black backpack.

The second man has black hair and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers.

The third is described as a woman last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.

The fourth is a man last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.

The fifth is a man with a heavy build who wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a black shirt over a gray T-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.

The sixth is a man last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, and white sneakers.
