- Feuerkrieg Division leader Nicholas Welker was arrested in San Jose, CA, on Mar. 21 on charges of conspiring to make threatening statements against a Brooklyn-based journalist who reported on the group. Welker's group is known as a 'hate group' for encouraging attacks on racial minorities, the Jewish community, the LGBTQIA+ community, and more. They were not happy with the journalist reporting on their activity. Threatening means of communication happened between August 2021 and March 2022, with Welker sending his own message online and his followers sending threats. Welker appeared in federal district court earlier this week, and if convicted, he will face a maximum of five years imprisonment. (Brooklyn Reader)
- The Brooklyn Nets and the New York Liberty are launching a new partnership with New York City Public Schools. Both the NBA and WNBA organizations will host free basketball clinics for elementary and middle schools in Brooklyn. Vaughn has seen his share of ups and downs since being promoted to head coach with the nature of a basketball season, as well as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving being traded at the deadline, and still, he remains very optimistic. Even with the Nets clinging to their six-seed playoff spot, he wants to remain in the moment and involved in the community, as these young children may very well become Nets fans. (Hoops Habit)
- Brooklyn's very own alternative rock band Superbloom has officially announced its next album, "Life's A Blur," which will be released on Jun. 9. The quartet came onto the scene with its 2020 hit Level Head and followed up with a 12-song album titled "Pollen" which received high regards from music media outlets as well as playtime on BBC Radio and more big stations. Accompanying the album will be an album release show at Brooklyn Made on Jun. 10, with more details to come. (CelebrityAccess ENCORE)
