Hit-And-Run Kills 2 Pedestrians In NYC, Police Says

SUNSET PARK, NY — Two pedestrians were killed early Friday morning by a hit-and-run driver in Sunset Park in Brooklyn, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the two men were hit by a driver in a dark gray BMW at the corner of Third Avenue and 52nd Street at 4:30 a.m. Friday.

The car sped through a red light, police said.

When police arrived, both men were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Officials said the car was traveling southbound on Third Avenue when it hit the two pedestrians.

Later Friday, NYPD officials arrested 23-year-old Juventino Anastacio Florentino in Staten Island and charged him with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.

Police said the victims are 80-year-old Kex Un Chen and 59-year-old Faqiu Lin.
