- A man was punched and slashed at a Brooklyn subway station after accidentally bumping into another person. At about 6 p.m. at the Jay Street MetroTech station, the victim was entering the station when he bumped the suspect. A fight broke out, and the suspect took out a kitchen knife and slashed the victim twice in the back. (WABC-TV)
- A construction crew in Red Hook struck a gas line, causing three surrounding buildings to be evacuated. The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and nobody was injured as a result. The leak was under control by 9 a.m. (Patch)
- The longtime Park Church Co-Op in Greenpoint is closing after a nearly 125-year history. The building reopened in 2015 after a brief closure but has struggled financially for years. (Brooklyn Paper)
- A thief attempted to steal 36 pairs of slippers from a discount store in Gravesend. The suspect was chased by a 32-year-old worker, who managed to get him to drop the slippers. The worker suffered a minor injury to her elbow while the suspect fled the scene. (PIX11 New York News)
