Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. Vice President Kamala Harris visited Brooklyn yesterday, choosing Bed-Stuy as the location to announce a multi-billion-dollar economic package. The announcement event saw a stretch of Fulton Street closed down with Secret Service and police around Restoration Plaza. The press conference was organized to celebrate the Economic Opportunity Coalition, designed to "strengthen the country's economic recovery." (Patch)
  2. A missing Brooklyn woman's remains were identified in Queens on the morning of July 26, and the death has been ruled a homicide. Gloria Lee, 53, was reported missing on Oct. 8, 2021. The East Flatbush native was last seen at her home on May 28, 2021, and no arrests have yet been made in the case. (MSN/New York Daily News)
  3. A suspect wanted for groping a woman at a Brooklyn subway station on July 23 has been linked to another incident which occurred only days earlier. The unidentified man attacked a woman on the Upper West Side on July 20 before groping a woman at the Carroll Street subway station three days later. The NYPD has linked him to both attacks and has released surveillance footage of him. (Patch)
  4. A pair of men are wanted for robbing a gas station in East Williamsburg early on Thursday morning. The two men stole $1,200 in cash from the register along with four six-packs of beer before fleeing. Police have asked for the public's help in identifying the suspects. (PIX11 New York News)
  5. Habana Outpost has returned to Fort Greene after a closure brought on by the pandemic. The Cuban eatery had long been a neighborhood favorite and has now returned and is included on the list of 16 best outdoor dining destinations in Brooklyn. (Patch)
