Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- A pair of armed robbers are wanted for attacking a 36-year-old food delivery worker. The suspects flashed guns at the victim and proceeded to punch and kick him before stealing his food and $5. The victim had been delivering food to a building on Lefferts Avenue before he was attacked. (NBC New York)
- A 23-year-old East New York woman has been missing for over a week. Tijae Baker was last seen on Sunday, May 1, leaving her Wortman Avenue home. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). (Patch)
- Only a week since Mayor Eric Adams announced the $4 million "Slow Down" campaign, 12 New Yorkers have died as a result of speeding related incidents. Adams and Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced the ad campaign on a dangerous street in East New York, revealing the billboards and advertisements that would be placed throughout the city. The campaign distinctly focuses on individual drivers and their responsibilities and avoids publicly recognizing flaws in certain roadway designs in New York City. (AMNY)
