Here are the top four stories in Brooklyn today:
- Yesterday, Aug. 25, 31-year-old Carrington Maddox of Brooklyn was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment and menacing as a hate crime. Maddox was charged with a hate crime for allegedly slapping a 27-year-old man, who was wearing traditional Jewish clothing, in the face on Aug. 22 on Lynch Street in Williamsburg. (FOX 5 New York)
- Yesterday, Aug. 25, Governor Hochul announced a design for the new gateway, at the Kent Avenue/North Eighth Street entrance, to Marsha P. Johnson State Park in Brooklyn. Marsha P. Johnson was a Transgender woman of color and pioneer of the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement. (The New York State Senate)
- JASA Williamsburg and St. Nick's Alliance Older Adult Centers are co-sponsoring a Senior Summer Festival tomorrow, Aug . 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2 Kingsland Avenue in Brooklyn!
