BAY RIDGE, NY — A Brooklyn man stabbed his mother at her Bay Ridge home over the weekend — and he claims his mother tried to poison him, according to police and reports.

Vladislav Deshkovich, 30, was arrested Saturday and charged with murder after police say he stabbed Inna Deshkovich, 52, in the neck, according to the NYPD.

The man, who had been involved in local politics, said his mother was trying to poison him, according to the New York Daily News.

Inna Deshkovich was found stabbed in the neck Friday about 7:35 p.m. at her apartment on 93rd Street between Ridge Boulevard and Marine Avenue, according to the NYPD. She was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Witnesses and police told the Daily News neighbors heard screams coming from the woman's apartment, leading police to find her bloodied body.

A neighbor told the Daily News Inna Deshkovich was a "terrific neighbor," and that her son had been troubled. A judge ordered Vladislav Deshkovich to be held without bail and given psychiatric care, the Daily News reported.
