Man Fatally Struck By E-Bike While Crossing NYC Street: Police

BROOKLYN, NY — A 49-year-old man was fatally struck by an e-bike as he crossed the street in Brooklyn this weekend, police said.

The incident happened as the man was walking on the crosswalk toward Franklin Street in Greenpoint around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, police said.

The 49-year-old man, identified as Luis Cruz, suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The e-bike rider remained at the scene. No charges have been filed as of Monday evening, police said.
