BROOKLYN, NY — A man was found unconscious floating in the water in Brooklyn's Paerdegat Basin Tuesday morning, police said.

Authorities found the man in the water near 80th Street and Seaview Avenue about 10:50 a.m., according to the NYPD.

He was pronounced dead on the scene shortly after, police said.

The man's body did not show any visible signs of trauma, and an investigation remained ongoing, police said.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
