Man Found Dead In NYC Newtown Creek: FDNY

BROOKLYN, NY — A dead body was found floating in Newtown Creek on Thursday, police said.

The body was found near Apollo Street in Brooklyn around 12:17 p.m., the FDNY said.

The man is believed to be in his 30s, sources told PIX11 News. He was found unresponsive by emergency personnel.

Additional details into the incident has not been released yet.

Last Thursday, the decomposing body of a man was found in the creek in Queens. Officers found the body around 8:40 a.m. near Malt Drive and 54th Avenue.

In July, the body of 52-year-old Reda Brika was found dead in a boat docked at the Newtown Creek Marina, Patch previously reported.

An investigation remains ongoing.
