BUSHWICK, NY — A man hit a stranger in the head with the back of a knife before robbing him, police said.

The suspected attacker struck the 34-year-old in the head about 2:25 p.m. Sunday on Woodbine Street near Knickerbocker Avenue, police said. He snatched the man's wallet and backpack and ran, according to the NYPD.

The 34-year-old was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, but police had not caught his attacker Tuesday. Police continued to investigate.
