Man Killed, 2 Others Hospitalized After NYC Apartment Fire
More than 60 firefighters and 12 FDNY units responded to the scene, officials said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A man was killed, and two others were hospitalized after a fire at a Brooklyn apartment building on Sunday.
The blaze started at an apartment building at 510 80th St. in Bay Ridge around 3:35 a.m., the FDNY said.
More than 60 firefighters and 12 FDNY units responded to the scene, officials said. The blaze seems to have started on the third floor of the building.

The fire was brought under control around 4:40 a.m.
A 37-year-old man was found unresponsive by firefighters inside the building. He was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.

A 34-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were found seriously injured by firefighters. They were also taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn for treatment.
The victim's identity has not been released. The city's medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
FDNY marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
