Man Critically Injured After Ambulance Crash In Brooklyn

The incident happened near McDonald Avenue and Avenue P in Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 19-year-old pedestrian has been left critically injured after an ambulance crashed into him as he crossed the street, police announced.

The incident happened on Sunday near McDonald Avenue and Avenue P around 1:15 a.m., police said.

A 39-year-old man driving a Hatzalah ambulance struck the 19-year-old as he was crossing McDonald Avenue.

EMS transported the pedestrian to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition. The man remains hospitalized as of Tuesday morning.

The driver remained on scene and has not been charged.
