Man Strangled Younger Sister To Death In NYC Apartment, Cops Say
Mary Fagan, 64, was found unresponsive in the living room of the apartment she shared with her brother, according to police.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 64-year-old woman was found dead after her older brother allegedly strangled her in the Brooklyn apartment they shared, police said.
Mary Fagan was found unresponsive in the living room of the apartment she shared with her brother, Thomas Fagan, on St. Johns Place near Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights just before 6 p.m. on July 26, police said.
While her death initially did not appear suspicious, the Office of Chief Medical Examiner later determined she had been killed, ruling the case a homicide.

According to police, shortly afterward, her 68-year-old brother, Thomas Fagan, confessed to strangling her. He was arrested on Saturday and charged with murder. At his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court the following day, he was ordered held without bail.
Police said there were no prior reports of domestic violence between the brother and sister.
