NYPD Cop Accused Of Strangling Arrested In Brooklyn: Police

A 10-year veteran of the police department was arrested in Greenpoint Monday, police said.

GREENPOINT, NY — A 10-year veteran of the NYPD stands accused of strangling someone in a domestic dispute in Greenpoint Monday, police said.

Sunny Parmar, 39, was arrested on a strangulation charge in the 94th Precinct about 9:15 p.m. Monday, according to the NYPD.

Parmar was not on duty at the time.

Few other details were available Tuesday, but police sources said it was a domestic incident.

Parmar started at the department in 2013 and was most recently assigned to Brooklyn's Transit District 30, centered at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station, NYPD records show.
