Occupy Kensington Organizes Mass Posting Of 'Know Your Rights' Flyer

The socio-political group wants to provide local immigrants with information on handling contact with ICE and police.

BROOKLYN, NY - Occupy Kensington (OK), a self-described community-based movement standing in solidarity with other Occupy, “99%” and liberation movements in New York City, has announced the organization of a mass posting of its “Know Your Rights” flyer throughout the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn. The event is set to kick off Saturday, April 22 at 7 a.m. and extend through noon.

According to OK, the purpose of the flyers is to “provide our immigrant neighbors with crucial information about their legal rights” in the case that such persons come into contact with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or the police. The flyer is available in English, Spanish and Bengali.
