- An NYPD officer sustained injuries after intervening in a fight in Williamsburg. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, the officer witnessed one of the men in the fight as he jumped into a car. The officer grabbed the car door handle as the vehicle drove off, injuring his elbow and finger by doing so. (CBS New York)
- Federal officers have spent nearly a week searching for a possible loaded gun that had been smuggled into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park. No weapon has yet been found since the federal Bureau of Prisons received the tip last Tuesday. The search remained ongoing as of Monday afternoon. (Paywall: New York Daily News)
- A viral video shows a group of people standing on top of a subway train in Brooklyn on Friday. Residents witnessed the subway surfers riding on the J train going over the Williamsburg Bridge. (ABC 7 NY)
- A Brooklyn couple has opened an LGBTQ+ friendly night club in Greenpoint. Club Lambda is an expansion of the Lambda Lounge, which opened in Harlem in 2020. Owners Charles Hughes and Richard Solomon felt that the city as a whole had been lacking in nightlife venues, particularly those geared towards the LGBTQ+ community. (News 12 Westchester)
