Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. A woman was killed when the driver of the car she was a passenger in slammed into a tractor trailer in East Flatbush. The 33-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and he has been taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving. The 29-year-old female passenger was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead. (ABC 7 NY)
  2. Three suspects are wanted after a violent home invasion on Saturday afternoon at the One Brooklyn Bay condos in Sheepshead Bay. The 39-year-old male victim opened his door before two male victims and one female victim entered and demanded his property. The victim was shot in the leg and then zip tied, before the invaders stole about $1,600 worth of property from his home. (amNY)
  3. A Dyker Heights school will be renamed in honor of longtime principal, Madeleine Brennan. Brennan was a beloved member of the education community as she led I.S. 201 as the longest serving principal in New York City history. Brennan worked as the head of the school for 50 years before retiring in 2013. (Brooklyn Paper)
