🌱 Queens Shooting Suspect Dead In Brooklyn + 64th Street Attacker

Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. A 55-year-old man who was wanted for murdering 51-year-old Migdalia Ortega was found dead by an apparent suicide on Wednesday morning. Pedro Cintron had been identified as the main suspect in the death of Ortega, who was his girlfriend, and had worked in the IT department for the NYPD for 11 years. Cintron was wanted for the killing of Ortega, and for shooting one of her neighbors when they attempted to check on Ortega. The incident is believed to have stemmed from a domestic dispute.   2. A disturbing surveillance video shows a man knocking a mother and her children to the ground after he had slapped her behind. The 41-year-old woman was walking with her dog and two children when they were attacked near 64th Street and Ninth Avenue on Tuesday, May 3. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large over a week later. (Patch)
  3. A new Caribbean marketplace is coming to Flatbush this weekend featuring food vendors and local retailers. The Flatbush Central Caribbean Marketplace at 2123 Caton Ave. officially opens on Friday, with a weekend-long celebration to follow. The new market will feature 29 unique vendors across 20,000 square feet of retail space. (Time Out)
