Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. A man was fatally shot in Red Hook at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Yusef Dinkins, 33, had been involved in a dispute with the suspect inside the Kennedy Fried Chicken at Hicks and Mill streets, and had sliced the gunman with a razor blade prior to the shooting. The shooter proceeded to confront Dinkins outside the restaurant, firing at least five times and killing the victim. It was unclear as to what sparked the confrontation. (Yahoo News)
  2. A group of workers on strike gathered in Greenpoint outside of the United Metro Energy oil terminal. The members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 553 launched a strike last April, protesting low wages and arbitrary firings. Andre Solelyn, who worked as a terminal operator for six years, raised the concern of unqualified workers operating the terminal, and in regard to safety said that management is "playing Russian roulette with this." (New York Focus)
  3. A 43-year-old man was found fatally shot in a Bensonhurst apartment last week. The victim's name has not been released, but it is known that he did not live in the apartment complex on Bay Parkway. Investigators are currently searching for three men who fled in a sedan southbound on Bay Parkway. (ABC 7 NY)
