Suspected Brooklyn Stabber Caught, Arrested: NYPD

BUSHWICK, NY — The suspected stabber in Sunday's fatal stabbing in Bushwick was an unhoused 29-year-old, caught Monday, police said.

The 29-year-old — now charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon — stands accused of fatally stabbing a 47-year-old Sunday in Bushwick, according to the NYPD.

The 47-year-old was found stabbed in the chest about 4:15 p.m. on Melrose Street near Stanwix Street, police said. He was rushed to an area hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.

Police had brought in a suspect for questioning Monday, and made their arrest about 3:50 p.m.
