Police Give All Clear After Suspicious Package Found Outside Brooklyn Courthouse
The NYPD Bomb Squad was on the scene outside 350 Jay St. on Wednesday at about 10 a.m., but it turned out to just be a bag left behind.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police gave the all clear at about 11 a.m. after responding to a suspicious package outside the Kings County Supreme Court on Wednesday morning. The investigation shut down Jay Street near the New York Marriott for about an hour.
An NYPD spokesman said someone had simply left a bag behind outside the courthouse. The MTA said A, C, F and R trains were bypassing Jay Street-MetroTech in both directions for about 45 minutes, but train service to Jay Street-MetroTech resumed at 11 a.m.
Police issued an order for workers in the area to stay inside their buildings, according to people on the scene.

There had been a prayer vigil scheduled by Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network for Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson, who was diagnosed with cancer and announced he'll be taking a leave of absence, at 11 a.m. The scare shut down the area right outside the District Attorney's office, however.
