Here are the top three stories in Brooklyn today:
- A 36-year-old good Samaritan attempting to prevent a man from harassing subway riders was slashed in the face. According to police, the incident happened at about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition. Anyone with information on the perpetrator, pictured at the link, is asked to call Crime Stoppers. (Brooklyn Patch)
- Building permits were filed for 1 Wythe Avenue in Greenpoint. According to filings, the construction will build a seven-story commercial building. The lot is near the Nassau Avenue subway station. The construction will be 70 feet tall and will yield 78,842 square feet. Click the link to learn more about the permit. (New York Yimby)
- A 14-year-old boy has been charged with a hate crime for attacking Jewish men in Brooklyn. The teen was arrested and charged after two incidents where the two men were sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher and punched on Aug. 21. The teen was allegedly a part of a group of people who committed these acts of violence. (NY Daily News)
