Teen Charged With Murder For Fatal Stabbing Near Barclays Center

BROOKLYN, NY — A 18-year-old man has been charged with second murder degree after he fatally stabbed a 27-year-old near Barclays Center in Brooklyn, police announced.

Noah Rentas was taken into custody on Tuesday and has also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Michael Hernandez, 27, was walking near Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues on March 14 when he was allegedly ambushed by a group of teens and stabbed around 9 p.m., police said.

Hernandez was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen, was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Patch previously reported.

According to multiple media reports, a large group had gathered in the area prior to the stabbing, and that several people fled the scene immediately following the attack.
