BROOKLYN, NY - A 16-year-old girl was killed after being struck by a Brooklyn subway train Tuesday evening, authorities said.

The teen was walking northbound on the southbound track inside the 4th Ave.-9th St. station tunnel in Park Slope about 5:10 p.m. when a Brooklyn-bound G train left the station and struck her, police sources told Patch.

The train operator attempted to hit the brakes but couldn’t stop in time, police said. The teen was found "unconscious and unresponsive" and was pronounced dead by medics inside the tunnel.
