  1. Actor Tony Sirico's mass was held at the Basilica of Regina Pacis near Borough Park, with thousands of people tuning in. Sirico was best known for his role at Paulie Guiltieri in the popular HBO show, "The Sopranos." The actor had been living at an assisted living facility in Fort Lauderdale before his passing last Friday. (Brooklyn Patch)
  2. Three men were killed in separate shooting incidents overnight in Brooklyn. The fatal shootings all occurred within four hours of each other. The NYPD could not provide information regarding potential motivations, or suspects in any of the three shootings. No arrests have been made as the investigations remain ongoing. (AMNY)
  3. The new sculpture in Columbus Park, titled “Mind Forged Manacles/Manacle Forged Minds,” explores fences and incarceration and how they are used to separate people not only in Brooklyn, but worldwide. The first large scale public project from artists Fred Wilson will remain in the park for the next year. The installation depicts six African figures locked behind ornamental gates and fences. (Brooklyn Paper)
  4. Construction workers were seen at a landmark home in Downtown Brooklyn, indicating that they may be working to stabilize the neglected building. The site was once home to 19th century abolitionists, and some local activists have been calling for it to be converted into a heritage center. The NYC Department of Design and Construction will oversee renovations of the house. (Brownstoner)
  5. The luxury fashion company Hermès leased its first Brooklyn locations in Williamsburg. The company leased two properties, one which will serve as a pop-up for a few years, and the other a permanent location. The asking rental prices for both leases were not publicly disclosed. (The Real Deal)
