  1. A Brooklyn house fire on Sunday evening left a mother and her child in critical condition. The FDNY rushed to 4545 Kings Highway at 6 p.m. where the mother and child were trapped in their home. Stefon Douglas, an off-duty firefighter, happened to live on the family's block and heroically pulled the two victims to safety. (AMNY)
  2. A brand-new supermarket has expanded into Bed-Stuy. Met Fresh Supermarket has opened on Tompkins Avenue, expanding upon its existing locations. The location will be open between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. from Sunday to Saturday. (Patch)
  3. The city is facing a lawsuit after a man was killed by an NYPD van on the Eastern Parkway in April. Ronald Anthony Smith was hit and killed by the van near Schenectady Avenue. Lawyers representing the victim's estate are preparing to "sue the city for negligence." (Patch)
  4. The NYPD is searching for a criminal who robbed four Brooklyn businesses and has stolen over $25,000 cash. The suspect first stole from a community center on April 26, where he stole $15,000. The NYPD has released surveillance footage of the suspect. (AMNY)
