Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. Two people were shot during an event at the SIM Vintage Music Parlor in Flatbush early on Sunday morning. At approximately 3:30 a.m. on March 6, a 31-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were shot in the left foot and right leg respectively. The shooter fled in an unknown direction, and it is unclear if the shooting victims were his intended targets. (AMNY)
  2. A suspect was arrested for the 2020 fatal shooting of a bar patron who walked off with the gunman's lighter. Daequan Woods, 41, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly shooting 28-year-old Daquan Blount after Blount refused to return the shooter's cigarette lighter. Security camera footage shows the two men fighting before Woods fired at Blount from point blank range. (Yahoo News)
  3. Permits have been filed for a 13-story-mixed use building at 226 Grove St. in Bushwick. The proposed development will yield 207,201 square feet across 153 residences and community facility space.
