Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

  1. A mix-up at the Union Street Bridge delayed Park Slope commuters on Tuesday morning. The moveable bridge was not closing properly as a large handful of people waited for a half an hour or more. The bridge has been used more frequently during the multi-million-dollar Gowanus Canal cleanup. (Patch)
  2. An alleged sex trafficker was indicted for killing and dismembering a woman in Brooklyn in 2017. Somorie Moses, 45, is believed to have killed Leondra Foster on Jan. 13, 2017, and discard her body at a Bronx sanitation site. The indictment includes many other alleged instances in which Moses trafficked women over the years. (PIX 11 NY)
  3. Police are searching for a man who stole a car from a Bensonhurst gas station. Surveillance footage shows the suspect entering the vehicle as its owner was pumping gas at about 11:40 a.m. on Sunday. Three female passengers were forced to roll out of the car to safety as the thief began to drive away. (WABC-TV)
  4. A new bill could bring dozens of speed humps to Crown Heights and Prospect Heights. The bill, proposed by Brooklyn City Councilmember Rita Joseph, would require the speed humps on all roads next to New York City parks that are an acre or bigger. In the streets surrounding the largest park in Crown Heights, there have been over 30 crashes since 2017. (Patch)
  5. A bicyclist sustained multiple injuries on Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Park Slope. At around 9:50 a.m., the cyclist was traveling through the intersection of 5th Street and 4th Avenue when they were hit by the car. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for their injuries, while the cause of the crash remains under investigation. (Local Accident Reports)
