VIDEO: School Bus Strikes, Drags Woman Crossing Street In Brooklyn

The driver appears to either not see her at all or have no regard for the pedestrian crossing the street with the right-of-way, video shows.

MIDWOOD, BROOKLYN — A store across the street caught the moment on camera when a school bus turning right at an intersection plowed into a woman walking on the crosswalk and caught her under the front of the bus. The surveillance camera footage was posted to Twitter on Sunday by @NYScanner without a warning that it was graphic, offending many viewers. Fortunately, the woman survived with non-life-threatening injuries, cops told Patch.

The horrifying incident occurred at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Avenue M in Midwood on Friday afternoon, cops said. The video shows the bus driver not slowing down as the bus slammed into her body, the mirror hitting her head, pushing her down to the ground, where she was then caught underneath the bus. The bus stops only when the driver sees that she has been dragged underneath it, and concerned passengers and the driver all come out of the bus, their faces shocked to see her body lying on the ground.

The name of the victim was not immediately released. Cops said the driver was not charged because he stayed on the scene after hitting the victim.
