Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. Brooklyn residents and elected officials came together on Friday night and held a vigil for Kade Lewin, the 12-year-old who was the victim of a fatal shooting one night earlier. Lewin, who lived with his mother in Flatlands, had been in a car with his aunt and an 8-year-old girl when he was hit with gunfire, and pronounced dead at the scene. Officials and residents alike are yet again calling attention to the disturbing rise in gun violence, and gun related deaths in the borough. (AMNY)
  2. A teenager from the Bronx was arrested in connection to a fatal January shooting in Brooklyn. Red Hook resident Ahmad Perkins, 45, was found with a gunshot wound to his head on Jan. 31, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Kendu Skeen, 18, was arraigned Friday night and will face multiple felony charges. (News 12 Bronx)
  3. A multiple-vehicle crash shut down multiple eastbound lanes on the Brooklyn Bridge. One individual was hospitalized in critical condition while multiple other passengers suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash is unclear while it remains under investigation. (NBC New York)
