🌱 Woman Attacked On 5 Train + Borough Park Baby Dropped From Balcony

Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:
- A woman was pistol whipped and kicked by an assailant who stole her purse on a Brooklyn 5 train. The 44-year-old victim was riding northbound near Prospect Lefferts Garden's Sterling Street station when she was hit in the face with the butt of the suspect's gun. The suspect then grabbed her purse and began kicking her. The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, while the attackers remain at large. (Patch)
- A 6-month-old boy was severely injured after his mother allegedly dropped him from a second-floor balcony. The NYPD reported to the incident on 51st Street at about 4 a.m., where they found the baby who had suffered arm, body, leg and hand injuries. Both parents were being questioned about the incident, and the mother was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. (NBC New York)
- A man was arrested on Thursday for his involvement with an Aug. 16, 2021, shooting on DeKalb Avenue. Andrew Simpson, 24, allegedly opened fire, injuring eight people. The suspect was arrested and charged with eight counts of attempted murder and one count of reckless endangerment. (AMNY)
