Woman Pulled From Water At NYC Beach Dies, Police Say
Police said the 55-year-old woman was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in the water on Monday evening.

BROOKLYN, NY — A woman who was pulled from the water at a Brooklyn beach Monday night has died, according to police.
Police say the 55-year-old woman was found unconscious and unresponsive in the water near Manhattan Beach, at 1448 Oriental Blvd., around 6:14 p.m. Lifeguards finishing their shift spotted her and quickly pulled her from the water.
Lifeguards are on duty at the beach from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to NYC parks.

She was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police said the circumstances that led to her being in the water remain unclear.
Her identity has not been released, and police have offered no further details.

This is the second water rescue in Brooklyn this week. On Wednesday, a Brooklyn teen drowned near the iconic Cyclone rollercoaster off Coney Island.
According to officials, around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, a lifeguard spotted the 18-year-old struggling in the water near Coney Island and pulled him out. He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
The teen has since been identified as Jun Obas, according to a report by News12 Brooklyn.
