The East Village's Shuttered Elsa Bar Is About to Be Revived in Brooklyn
The bar, called Elsa II, will be located along Atlantic Avenue between Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill.

COBBLE HILL, BROOKLYN — A liquor license for a new bar called Elsa II, planned for 136 Atlantic Ave. between Henry and Clinton streets, got the green light from Community Board 6's licensing committee Monday night.
Natalka Burian, a spokeswoman for Elsa II, said it'll be a sister bar to Ramona, located in Greenpoint. The original Elsa bar — a charming, cozy "cocktail den" in Manhattan's East Village, reportedly named after fashion designer Elsa Schiaperalli — closed in the summer of 2014, after nearly six years serving the Village.
A website for the yet-to-open Elsa II bar in Cobble Hill doesn't provide any details about the planned establishment, other than to say it's coming in the fall of 2016.

The Ramona bar in Greenpoint describes itself as a watering hole "featuring innovative original cocktails and re-imagined classics," served on a "nearly forty foot long bar." Ramona also has "balcony seating" and is filled with crazy artwork.
The original Elsa bar, on the other hand, was modeled after a fashion designer's workroom and offered a much darker, more intimate experience.

How will Elsa II compare? Patch has reached out to bar management for more details. We'll update this post if and when we hear back.
