Middle East Expert Talks Israel and Media at Suffolk Y JCC

Close to 50 people gathered at to attend a lecture led by Long Island author and lawyer Alan Katz at the in November.

The program focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the media’s anti-Israel bias, issues which are discussed in Katz's book, For the Record: Israel and the Palestinians, What the Media Aren’t Telling You.

“If Jews are the target of an accusation, most of the world seems to believe it,” Katz said during the lecture. “The question we have to ask ourselves is why does the world believe this? This insanity is going to continue if we don’t do something about it. That’s what my book is about – how the media distorts things like this.”

During the lecture, Katz challenged listeners  to question what is accurate reporting when it comes to the media’s portrayal of Israel. Katz has spent 25 years researching what he believes to be the demonization of Israel by the media.
