Week in Review: Hess Sparks Controversy, Tile Shop Opens

Tensions ran high at Thursday night's Smithtown Town Board Meeting, as more than 20 residents spoke publicly in opposition of the proposed Hess Express gas station and convenience store, citing safety and traffic concerns.

The Tile Shop, the newest addition to the Cosentino Comerce Center, is open for business. The store, located next to , officially opened its doors in late January.

Alex Cantu has been named exectuive chef at Commack eatery. Cantu previously served as sous chef at the , located in the Northgate Shopping Center.

Hauppauge girls varsity basketball have continued their battle for a title by beating the Commack Cougarettes, 51- 30, in the first round of the Suffolk County Class AA Championships at home Monday evening.
