Cupcakes, a McDonald's Fundraiser and Soccer Highlight the Week Ahead
The Deer Park and North Babylon sports programs are in full swing, while kids from Ss Cyril and Methodius will participate in a fundraiser that would make Ronald McDonald proud.

You know what makes New York Giants fans feel better about being 0-5? Well, nothing, but now that we've gotten that out of the way, here is a way for Big Blue supporters to feel a little sweet on life: Cupcakes.
LIBRARY EVENTS
The Deer Park Library hosts Harvest Hedgehog Cupcakes, a get together with Simply Creative Chef Rob Scott. The event is for children from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. One note: The event may not be suitable for kids with certain allergies. Call the library at 631.586.3000 for more information.
The North Babylon Library has plenty of events as well, including one dedicated to bats. Not baseball bats. Bats - as in the nocturnal animals. The event, for kids between kindergarten and fifth grade, takes place at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Each participant will make a bat to bring home.
The bats can turn to life and attack other household pets. Consider yourself warned.
If bats aren't your thing, check out the full North Babylon Library schedule here.
SPORTS EVENTS
We can't list every sporting event in both communities here, but if you're looking for something specific, check out the Section XI website. It's easy to use. Here are a few home highlights:
The Deer Park boys soccer team hosts East Islip at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Falcons varsity girls soccer team is home against Huntington on Friday. That game kicks off at 4 p.m.
North Babylon's girls team is also home this week, Tuesday against Half Hollow Hills West.
The varsity Bulldogs football team is home on Saturday against Bay Shore.
SSCM SCHOOL NIGHT AT MCDONALD'S
St. Cyril and Methodius school students and parents will go ever so slightly southbound on Deer Park Avenue to the McDonald's next to the AT&T store for a fundraiser on Tuesday night. A portion of all purchases at McDonald's between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. will be donated to the school.
Scoops for Cubs
North Babylon Cub Scout Pack 112 will host Scoops Night at the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins on Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon all night. Just mention "scouts" when ordering and a portion will go towards helping the boys out.
