Deer Park - North Babylon Weekend Planner
We've got a list of events happening around the area this weekend.
The NYPD Finest Football Team is playing a game in Lindenhurst on Saturday in memory of Joe Pritchard, the NYPD officer from North Babylon who lost his life in a March 25 crash on the Long Island Expressway. The team, on which Pritchard played, plays the Long Island Panthers at the Lindenhurst Middle School Field. The game starts at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free, but donations are encouraged as they'll go toward a scholarship fund that's being started.
Dine at Applebee's in North Babylon on Saturday to support a fundraiser for Marion G. Vedder Elementary's fifth grade class. The breakfast costs $10 and includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and a beverage. Every dollar raised helps with the Moving Up Ceremony and Picnic for the class of 2013.
Celebrate Elementary Arts Day at Deer Park High School on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be workshops for students in the visual arts, music, theatre, and dance as well as live performances including a guest appearance by members of the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players.
